Oppression is an interesting tool.
It prevents people any people, who are oppressed from meeting their full potential.
As one take a look back in time oppression was a very common thing. Whether it be the Jewish community in Europe or the Blacks in Africa or the Aboriginals in North and South America or
As one, travels through history, there has always been oppression of one sort or another. In the
Indian lands were taken much the same way,
They were put on Reservations, much the same as where the Palestinians are today.
The weapons used to keep them in their so called place, are different and more advanced, but all the same the very same concept was used to steal all of North and South American Aboriginal lands. To this day they are still oppressed.
There were a few Holocausts most never even think to mention. It was wrong to go into someone else’s country and do what they did.
Europeans even then thought, they had the God Given right to do so however.
Now God, in which ever form he takes, or in whatever Religion you are, all have the same basic ten laws. Though shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covert etc etc.
All religions have those same ten laws to guide them. When one looks at history because in the name of so called religion, there have been more deaths because of it, then one even cares to fathom. Even during the Burning Times when a million odd people or so were tried as witches, tortured and murdered.
The ignorance that prevailed, over any such concept, is something we today should be wise enough to look upon and realize it was wrong.
What is foolish in all sects, creeds, colours, and religions, the bottom line is all worship the same “God”. There is only one, it’s just God has been given different names.
No persons God is better then anyone other persons God. There is only one.
Whether God even really exists at all, is yet another story all together.
Imagine if all these thousands of years ,everyone who has been worshiping this invisible entity, discover there was no invisible entity at all. I have many times wondered.
Religion like anything else has been used as a tool, to control and oppress the masses. Then again so is the Government Of Day used, to oppress the masses in some countries? Short form G.O.D.
A few thousand years ago the G.O.D. was worshiped at the all powerful being. Even I the days of the Pharos, if you were Pharos you were G.O.D. Well you know that is quite true.
Maybe over the Years, we have all been hoodwinked.
As a wise man once said, if you are looking for God you will find him in the trees, in the water, in the land and within yourself. He does not live in a man made building. He lives in your heart.
We are caretakers of the earth. We borrow it from our children and their children’s children. We are all one people. There is no one, who is better then some else. When we are born, we are all born equal with equal potential.
What we are taught and how we are treated, after we are born however has a profound effect on what you will be, when you grow up.
Hate begets hate. Love begets love.
If a religion any religion, causes you to murder even one soul, then there is something wrong with that religion. If it causes you to murder millions that is not Religion, that is what it is mass murder.
To oppress a people is to control them. As history tell us repeatedly. Keep the slaves uneducated and they are easier to control.
May Muslims have been oppress and prevented from reaching their true potential.
Many Aboriginal Indians have been oppressed and never reach their true potential. Jews were oppressed and many did not reach their true potential.
What
There are some who however, support what
This in no way, will help them. They are destroying themselves, by destroying others. They are oppressing a people the same way they were oppressed. They became the object of hate they themselves hated. They have become hate instead, of the loving people they should be and could have been, if only they had learned to live in peace.
All people are created equal. No single person is better then any other single person. If a person is treated with love and understanding, as they grow from birth then so to does love.
If you teach hate, however you become hate.
To oppress people is a sin. To lie is a sin, To steal is a sin. Yet those who are doing the sinning think they have the God given right to do so. They of course are wrong.
When a religion, any religion, has turned into nothing more then a Den of murderous, lying, thieves. Then it is no longer living by “true faith”. It is just a Den of murderous, lying, thieves.
A parable:
A young monk, who’s role was to rewrite scriptures, for others to read, better know as a scribe in those days long past, one day said to an older Monk. “Has anyone ever checked with the original copies, to be assured that the words and transcription we use now, are the same. If someone had ever, even so much as made a spelling mistake one word could change the entire concept or meaning of a passage”.
The older Monk took the passage the younger Monk had been transcribing, down to the Sacred Archives and he checked to be assured it was as it should be. They young Monk after a an hour or so, thought he should go check on the older Monk, as he had been gone for a very long time.
As he neared the Archives room he heard the older Monk screaming and wailing. The older Monk was crying, and crumpled in the corner of the room, in great despair.
The young Monk sat beside the older Monk to console him and to inquire what the problem was. The older Monk through his sobbing, and wretched wailing said “The word was Celebrate, the word was Celebrate Not Celibate.”
The Ten Laws
1. You shall have no other Gods but me. )You must be loyal to this Government and no other Government.- treason)
2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it. ( you are no better then anyone else. Equality. All people are Equal. Money was considered an Idol. Everyone is equal under the law. Also one has to remember they came from a place where the leaders worshiped -Statues, Idols, Hunks of Rock carved into pretty pieces of art)
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. ( you must respect your Government, Loyalty and Respect, so to speak -Simply put - taking the oath off office or citizenship in any country. )
4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy. (rest on the 7th day of the week. You shall not work, operate a business etc in other words Labour Law.)
5. Respect your father and mother.( respect Mother Earth and Air-. Environmental Law-Don’t’ pollute in other words).
6. You must not kill. (Simple, Don’t kill, murder was illegal, as it is today)
7. You must not commit adultery. ( don’t cheat on your husband or wife)
8. You must not steal. –(Theft, Robbery Law )(Simple self explanatory)
9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour. ( never lie about your neighbour , perjury, lie, slander, this would also apply to a neighbouring country, village or settlement- We have those laws to day.)
10. Do not Covet-You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house, nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour. ( be happy with who and what you are. The grass may not be greener on the other side of the fence or on the other side of the border, this one would also apply to land ownership as well) (not to desire wrongfully, inordinately, or without due regard for the rights of others: to covet another's property.) This is also a Social and Moral behavior aspect, of the ten laws. Each person is responsible for your own behavior, in other wards. Treat your neighbour as you would want to be treated. Social Responsibility. Just because your neighbour has 10.000 Nuclear weapons does not mean, you should want them too. Just because your neighbour has 50,000 million cars on the road, does not mean you should want them too. With that can come many problems. To want something does not mean you should morally or logically have it. To want it could mean you become corrupt and unethically sound in your thinking. To want someone’s land falls into the same aspect or thought frame of mind. Keeping up with the Jones cost money and has consequences. If go after the neighbours wife for example, it can lead to problems, in your home, their home and can and sometimes leads to death among other things. This covers the, “I want it so I am going to take it aspect of thinking.. It is wrong.” )
We all live by those laws for the most part, in almost all countries.
These are laws made by Governments.
When Moses handed down these laws to the slaves he helped free, these are laws all governments use. Nothing really special just logical laws. Moses in effect was the new head of Government, of the freed slaves.
Moses went to school, he learned how to read, he learned law etc. and passed on what he learned to the freed slaves, who had not been, allowed to go to school. This had been forbidden, as it was forbidden for the slaves in the
Educated people are easier to control.
Moses gave the people just laws instead of slavery laws.
Nothing in those Ten laws says slavery is OK.
Nothing in those Ten laws gives anyone the right to invade a country and steal their land.
Nothing in those Ten laws give anyone the right to commit mass murder.
These were the Ten simple laws to guide the newly freed people.
Moses could have told them an angel from heaven gave him those ten laws, he could have made up any story he wanted. These people worshiped him as their savior. He did free them after all.
He did not want them to worship him. He wanted them to free of worshiping a single person or idols or any other foolish thing. He wanted them to self govern. That was his goal after freeing them. He also did not want them to impose, the horrendous atrocities on any other group of people, that had been imposed on them.
Hence he figured, his ten laws covered most of it. Etched in Stone-meaning those Ten basic laws, can never, ever be changed. NEVER. Those Ten laws are the “Foundation” on which all Laws are based.
They are the “Constitution” under which they live and always will live by.
By the rule of law the people were freed and by the rule of law will they also live.
Some one did write done the history of it all. On a scroll no less. They used scrolls a lot back then, as they didn’t have a modern day thing we call books. Go figure. But to be perfectly clear a Book=Scroll What they wrote and how it was translated are two different things.
Jesus (Hey Zues) The proper pronunciation of the word.
also went to school. One of the very select few who did, way back then and he too went about place to place teaching people, what he had learned. What he was doing in affect was illegal. He was breaking the law by teaching people. He too wanted to free the slaves. Well that was a no no.
If Jesus came back today and he lived in Israel . He would walk into the Government and he would again call them a Den of thieves. He would frown upon their Murderous Rampage, on the people of Palestine . He would be murdered or assassinated just as before for his outcry of immoral behavior.
Just as Rachel Corrie was silenced for her “outcry” of immoral behavior against the Palestinian people.
Just as Kennedy was Silence.
Just as many have bee silenced.
If Israelis believe, Jesus or Moses would condone their behavior, they are sadly mistaken.
Jesus and Moses both were Peace Activists. They were both Human Rights Activists. Both were well educated. Both gained the Love and the Trust of the people. Not by threats of violence or hatred, but with Love, Understanding , Knowledge and Wisdom.
Their weapons of choice were Knowledge and Rule of Law. Their trust of the people, was earned through honesty. They were the voice of the weak, who could not defend themselves. They were the voice of Peace, Freedom, and Human Rights for all. They were the voice of Reason.
Just like Rachel Corrie, Just like Martin Luther King. Just like many of us. Even the Voice of John Lennon was a voice for Peace. No less worthy they Jesus of Moses.
Jesus and Moses both were Peace Activists. They were both Human Rights Activists.
Both well educated although I have to say Moses was much better in science class, with the knowledge of science, a background on medicines, their creations, their uses and applications.
Jesus more so educated in the area of medicine, healing and prevention.
Moses a Chemistry Major. Jesus a Doctor. This among the other lessons they learned through school, gave them a great deal of knowledge. Knowledge is Power in every sense of the word. Mind Power. .
In school they took law, reading writing science, math, all the same things we take in school now. Mixing herbs and spices used for healing is science. Almost all medicines even now were or are based on plant life.
Medicine Men in Aboriginal Indian tribes used them.
Witch doctors used them etc etc.
Through out history, plant life was used to cure people of their illnesses.
Two thousand years ago they were also used, this is not a recent phenomena.
They were not any different from students today.
They learned their lesson they took tests and exams and they were all done with the use of scrolls.
Scrolls were their writing papers. That is all they had back then, so this is what they used. So if you found a scroll tucked away somewhere, it may have been simply and exam paper. Nothing magical or mystical, just an exam paper. Just a part of history.
All laws were written on scrolls. All history was written on scrolls. All records were written on scrolls. Songs and stories were written on scrolls.
Well where else would they be written.
Not like they had a Staples done the street, as we have today, where you buy sheets of paper.
A scroll is merely a sheet of paper. Nothing so special about them just a simple old fashioned, sheet of paper.
Nothing mystical or magical about a piece of paper is there?
Had they had computers as we do today they would have stored it on disk. Ya think Maybe? Then we would all be worshiping the written word, on the disks left behind and found.
The word of G.O.D. is written on the Disk, we must obey those words for the rest of time. Good Grief.
Should they be Jesus and Moses be remembered, yes of course they should. Should they be worshipped no. Do their lesson and history have meaning yes. Both in their time were very notable, wise men.
They were no less or more notable, then Martin Luther King, Rachel Corrie, John Lennon JF Kennedy.
J. F. Kennedy because, he refused to kill his own people to begin a war with Cuba .
Martin Luther King who fought for equality for the blacks,
Rachel Corrie who fought to protect the Palestinians.
John Lennon for his work as a Peace Activists .
Just like Jesus and Moses all were Peace Activists. All were Human Rights Activists. To think anything less, is a profound statement, of your ignorance of history and knowledge.
To condemn those such as Rachel, Martin, John or John F. is to condemn the teaching of Jesus or Moses.
To condone using their teaching, as a foundation for mass murder, oppression, and stealing of another’s land is a hypocritical, sick, twisted, perversion of their words.
It is a complete and utter, misrepresentation, of their meaning.
The Bible and its writing were used to teach in schools, just like the books we use today. It is an accumulation of songs, poems, laws, stories and history. Much the same as the books we use today only they had been written on scrolls. The writing paper of the time.
That is how they kept records same as today.
If you could kidnap Jesus and bring him to the present day. If you told him, how things have transpired through time. I am quite sure he would be laughing his sweet tushie off, at the foolishness of it all.
He would be dumbfounded at the stupidity of it all. He would be laughing, until the cows came home. Jesus did have a fabulous sense of humor. He was a great story teller. He was a master speaker. He was a Political Activist. He was an ambassador. He was a teacher. He was the jack of all trades and master of none.
He was also prince charming. He was a great man.
If he came back today, he would be a comedian, laughing at foolishness, of the world today and how his teaching, were twisted.
He would still be a “Human Rights Activist” and a “Peace Activist” however.
Today as then, he would be confronted by the same insanity as back in his era.
He would be saddened by the fact that nothing, has really changed. There is still oppression, slavery and the power hungry, greed he so diligently tried to end.
He would be “horrified” to witness what Israel is doing to the Palestinians.
Those are the very things, he wanted to stop.
He also was well aware, that taking the path he walked, would one way or the other, could lead to his assassination and death. And it did.
He also knew his memory would be written into history. And it was.
Just as Martin Luther King, Rachel Corrie, John Lennon or J.F. Kennedy are written into history.
Those who knew him, would never let his memory vanish, from history. They would never let his memory be forgotten.
So like today, it was written into history, for all to remember and behold. The records of his speeches were written. His stories were written. His travels were written. His heritage was written. A record of everything, he did was pretty much written. That way, future generations could reflect on his views and teachings.
If Jesus were alive today, he would be called a Terrorist. Just as many Activist are. In those Days he was considered in the same context, a terrorist, just by a different name is all. Those in power perceived him as a threat to their rule over the people. He was considered a problem, that needed to be eliminated. He was a threat.
All cultures from all nations have different beliefs.
In Aboriginal Indian Culture: All animals were held sacred.
In India : Cattle were held sacred.
The Egyptians: Cats were revered and held sacred.
Were they all wrong, in their belief, that animals were, sacred or special? Or were they open minded enough to realize we can, learn from animals.
After all it was the bird who inspired, flight. Simply because someone, was mystified enough to wonder, if man could, master the sky’s. To be intrigued enough to discover the truth is an art of it’s own.
Inspiration and curiosity come in many forms. Never be so closed minded to think you are better then anyone else. You may discover you are in fact wrong.
As Albert Einstein once said "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
And "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
Both statements are very simple, to the point and within the grasp of any person, to understand.
